Myth of Empires: Throne Maps Guide — All Three Worlds
Explore every biome across Zhongzhou, Dongzhou, and Xizhou. Resource node locations, dungeon access guide, boss loot tables, and strategic zone control for every stage of MOET's season warfare.
Zhongzhou
Starter MapZhongzhou is the primary and most populated map in Myth of Empires: Throne. It is where all players begin each season and where the majority of early-to-mid game activity takes place. The map features six distinct biomes arranged roughly from center-outward: plains (center), mountains (northwest/northeast), snowfields (far north), desert (south), rainforest (southeast), and swamp (west).
Biomes
- Central Plains — Best starter biome. Flat terrain, easy horse taming, and good early metal nodes. Resources: Fiber (abundant), Stone, Clay (riverbanks), Copper Ore, Wild Horses (Common–Uncommon), Deer and rabbits
- Mountain Zones — Higher tier metals. Difficult terrain slows mining runs but rewards are worth it by Week 2. Resources: Iron Ore (high density), Coal, Rare Herbs, Rare Horse spawns, Cave Bears (leather)
- Snowfields (North) — Requires cold weather gear. Environmental damage without proper protection. High risk, high reward. Resources: Premium Furs, Ice Crystals (crafting reagent), Rare megafauna, High-tier herb nodes
- Desert (South) — Unique crafting materials not found elsewhere. No water sources — pack Water Skins. Resources: Sand (glass crafting), Cactus Fiber, Scorpion Venom, Sandstone blocks, Spice Plants
- Rainforest (Southeast) — Dense canopy reduces visibility. Rich in rare organic crafting materials. Resources: Exotic Woods (high density), Rare Birds (feathers for arrows), Tropical Fruits (premium food), Vines (rope alternative)
- Swamp (West) — Best Clay source on the map. Poison risk from swamp creatures. Often contested for Clay. Resources: Clay (extreme density), Reed Fiber, Amphibians (leather), Bog Iron Ore, Medicinal Swamp Moss
Strategy: Zhongzhou's central plains counties are the most contested in Phases 1–2 due to their accessibility and horse spawns. The mountain biome counties become more valuable in Phase 2 when Iron Ore demand peaks. Control of the Swamp biome's Clay deposits gives a significant construction advantage in early fortification races.
Key counties: Storm Pass County, Iron Ridge County, Riverside County, Thornwood County
Dongzhou
Advanced MapDongzhou becomes accessible as players' production power scales beyond what Zhongzhou resources can efficiently supply. Its defining characteristic is geographic diversity — no two zones feel alike. The map features volcanic zones with unique rare mineral deposits, sea islands accessible only by boat or flying mount, a frozen coastal tundra, and the culturally distinctive peach blossom forest and bamboo grove biomes.
Biomes
- Volcanic Zone — Fire damage zones require Fire Resistance potions. Obsidian is the primary draw — used in Tier 4+ weapon crafting. Resources: Obsidian (high-tier weapon material), Volcanic Glass, Fire Crystals, High-tier metal ores, Rare Lizard mounts
- Sea Islands — Requires a boat or flying mount to access. Naval combat zones between islands. Resources: Pearls, Coral (decorative + crafting), Rare Seafood (premium food), Naval lumber (ship construction), Saltwater fish
- Coastal Beach — Safe zone for salt farming — critical for food buff preparation before County Battles. Resources: Salt (food preservation), Sand Glass, Seashells (decorative), Crab leather, Drift Wood
- Frozen Tundra — Extreme cold. Required: Tier 3 cold weather gear minimum. High-value crafting materials. Resources: Arctic Fur (highest quality armor material), Glacial Ice (crafting), Mammoth tusks (ivory crafting), Frost Herbs
- Peach Blossom Forest — Aesthetically unique zone. Lower combat resource density but high crafting specialty materials. Resources: Cherry Wood (premium furniture material), Petal Essence (alchemy), Rare birds, Honey (food buff ingredient)
- Bamboo Grove — Bamboo is lighter than wood but less structural — good for interior construction and pipe systems. Resources: Bamboo (construction alternative), Bamboo Shoots (cooking), Giant Panda encounter (tameable), Bamboo Fiber (premium rope)
Strategy: Dongzhou volcanic zone control is the primary Phase 2–3 objective for advanced guilds due to its Obsidian monopoly. Obsidian weapons have significantly higher damage than Iron-tier equivalents, and controlling the volcanic zone's processing facility (the only place Obsidian can be refined) creates a weapon quality bottleneck that determines guild power ceilings.
Key counties: Volcano Summit County, Coral Bay County, Frost Harbor County, Bamboo Ridge County
Xizhou
Endgame MapXizhou is the most challenging and rewarding map in Myth of Empires: Throne. Its primary topography is vast desert interrupted by life-giving oasis clusters. But Xizhou's defining feature is its instance dungeon system — scattered across the map are dozens of dungeon entrance points activated by Treasure Maps. These dungeons contain Ancient Tomb Bosses that drop the Art of War scrolls needed to unlock the game's most powerful combat and crafting bonuses.
Biomes
- Desert Plains — Base traversal zone. Resource density is lower than Zhongzhou but materials are unique. Resources: Fine Sand (glass and alchemy), Desert Herbs (unique recipes), Scorpion Carapace (armor material), Camel encounters
- Oasis Clusters — Strategic chokepoints. Controlling oasis zones provides water access for dehydration management and clay production. Resources: Fresh Water (reduces dehydration), Date Palms (premium food), Oasis Clay (highest purity grade), Tropical Birds, Rare horse spawns near water
- Ancient Ruins (Dungeon Zones) — The reason most players come to Xizhou. See Dungeon section below for full details. Resources: Dungeon entrance portals, Treasure Map drops from ruins enemies, Rare ore veins inside dungeons, Ancient Boss loot
Strategy: Xizhou is the late-season content hub. Controlling oasis zones provides water resources that are needed for desert survival buffs and advanced cooking recipes. The dungeon system's Art of War scrolls are permanent season upgrades — players who run more dungeons have warriors with measurably higher battle performance. Guilds that establish a Xizhou forward operating base (FOB) in Phase 2 can run daily dungeon raids without the long travel time from Zhongzhou, providing a significant Honor Point income advantage.
Key counties: Oasis Citadel County, Dune Ridge County, Ancient Gateway County
Dungeons
Xizhou's instance dungeon system is unique in MOET. Unlike most MMO dungeon systems, MOET's dungeons are accessed through Treasure Maps — consumable items that, when used, activate a specific dungeon entrance nearby. Each dungeon entrance is a one-time instance, meaning multiple player groups can run dungeons simultaneously at different entrance points.
How to enter
- Find a Treasure Map (drops from Xizhou open-world enemies, crafted at Advanced Workbench, or purchased at county market)
- Open inventory → right-click Treasure Map → 'Use' → a dungeon entrance marker appears on your minimap
- Travel to the marked location (orange glow effect on entrance portal)
- Stand at entrance, press E to open the dungeon interface
- Select solo or group entry (group entry requires party of 2–5 players)
- Instance loads separately from the open world
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How do I travel between the three maps in Myth of Empires: Throne?
Inter-map travel uses designated Travel Portals located at each map's border zone. Portals require a Portal Key (consumable, crafted or purchased). Travel is not instant — it carries a 30-second loading transition. Your horse and equipment travel with you. Note: traveling to Dongzhou or Xizhou without proper biome gear results in environmental damage.
Which map is best for beginners in MOET?
Zhongzhou is the designated starter map and the best for new players. It has the most accessible resources (especially in the central plains biome), the highest Common horse density, and county battles that are achievable with basic Iron-tier gear.
Can I build a base on Dongzhou or Xizhou?
Yes. You can build bases on any map. A forward base on Xizhou near a dungeon cluster dramatically reduces travel time for dungeon runs. However, Xizhou and Dongzhou bases are more vulnerable to raids due to lower player density and harder-to-defend terrain. Always have secondary storage at your Zhongzhou primary base.
How often do Treasure Maps drop in Xizhou?
Treasure Maps drop from most Xizhou open-world enemies at approximately a 5–15% drop rate depending on enemy tier. Ruins-area enemies (the ruins scattered across the desert) have the highest Treasure Map drop rate at approximately 20%. You can also craft Treasure Maps at an Advanced Workbench if you have the recipe unlocked.
Are Xizhou dungeons soloable?
The two lowest tier dungeons (Ancient Tomb Guardian and Sand Warlord) are soloable with proper gear and healing items. The Oasis Serpent King requires a group of 2–3 minimum due to its AoE mechanic. The Ancient Emperor's Shade is a 5-player raid boss that cannot be reliably solo'd.
What is the most valuable resource unique to Dongzhou?
Obsidian from the volcanic zone is the most strategically valuable Dongzhou-exclusive resource. It is used in Tier 4 and 5 weapon crafting (the highest damage weapon tier available before Legendary equipment). No other map produces Obsidian, creating a hard supply gate for top-tier weapon production.
